The names

The name "Naith" comes from Tolkien. It is the very core of Lothlorien, the area of land between the rivers that is shaped like an arrowhead. There's no deep meaning behind choosing that name other than my love for all things Tolkien and especially of Lothlorien. I could argue though, that this site is the core of my web projects, and that from this solid ground it is good to watch the trends passing by in the bit streams while my layouts change slowly in rhythm with the seasons. ;D

nippu.net is the domain I share with my friend Daniel. "Nippu" is Finnish, and means bundle, bunch, sheaf, a collection of things ... you get the idea. It is the place for the bunch of websites we're currently running.

Purpose

Naith is a personal website, but it is made for you.
There is an alarming trend of personal websites "made for myself". Those sites are designed for extra big resolutions and the latest release of IE. Their owners make it clear that they don't want you to tell them your opinion about anything if it differs from their own.
This site is build with html 4 and css. It looks best on a browser capable of using style sheets, but you can see the content even in a text browser. You are welcome to give me feedback on my work, this site and/or my thoughts. Please use the guestbook or send me an email mervi[at]nippu[dot]net. Don't be shocked if I continue the discussion. ;)

Copyright business

The content of this site, the graphics, the photos etc are my property except when otherwise noted. Please respect that, and ask me if you'd like to use something. I usually say yes. :)
Obviously I do not own any rights to the X-Files, the Lord of the Rings movies or Savage Garden. *sigh* No money is being made, it's free advertisement, fair use and all that.
Contrary to the popular belief, I do not own the html code I write. Feel free to look at it if you think you might learn something. :)
ask. :)
